Lottery Grant Recipients

We awarded the following grants via the "Three Rivers Unity Lottery" at the respective Three Rivers Partnership AGM

2016

  • Gillingham Silver Town Band - £2,500. To pay for a cornet for the youth band (Music Fund).
  • Gillingham Link Befriending Scheme - £300. To provide events and outings.
  • Hardings Park Scheme - £500. Towards play equipment.
  • Gillingham Walkers are Welcome Group - £500. For marketing and publicity materials.
  • 2015

    • Gillingham Town Youth Football Club - £470. To train 5 parent coaches.
    • Gillingham and Shaftesbury Read Easy - £250. For affiliation fee and training for coaches.
    • East Stour Short Mat Bowls Initiative - £250. Towards capital project to replace equipment.

    2014

    • Dorset Marshalls - £250. A voluntary group who provide stewarding and marshalling for Gillingham Carnival, St George's Day, Remembrance, Festival Light Parade and activities on the Rec and Town Meadow.
    • The Way Forward - £250 start up costs for a new Social Club on Monday mornings at Gillingham Football Club for adults who are not in work and would benefit from social, wellbeing and learning opportunities.
    • Read Easy - £120 start up costs to launch a new Adult Literacy scheme providing 1-2-1 reading support from trained volunteers to adults in Gillingham and surrounding areas who struggle with reading.
    • Gillingham Community Church - £250 for the Busy Bees Project. The Busy Bees craft and social group is open every Tuesday afternoon between 1 pm and 3 pm.
